    Position overview

     

    We want someone who has the interest, drive and resourcefulness to help a mid-sized firm grow its existing offerings, introduce new offerings to clients, and recruit top-tier talent for the future of the company. This person will work directly with our leadership team on goals and planning, will work with Stax’s consultants and internal resources on execution, as well as identify and manage outside providers as needed.

     

    The goals for expanding our work:

    • With thousands of projects under its belt and over 20 years history of high-caliber work with marquee clients, Stax has a terrific story to tell in the marketplace, valuable content to share, and substantive growth potential with both existing clients and new clients. We want someone that can leverage technology, digital marketing, and content generation to develop and manage a program to target existing and adjacent clients highlighting current and new offerings.

     The goals for recruiting:

    • We want top talent that has the drive to bring great work and new analytics, insights and, recommendations to clients, as well as people with an interest in growing the firm and developing more company infrastructure.  Stax has the opportunity to refine and bring this message out further at select campus areas and to a variety of talent from different – more diverse – backgrounds.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Accountability for developing and executing Stax’s marketing and communications program with monthly and quarterly reviews for continuous improvement.
    • Campaign development and management, as well as management of our CRM database.
    • Working closely with the CEO and leadership team to develop a strategic plan focused on increasing client awareness of Stax’s current offerings, new offerings and experience, and recruiting top talent.
    • Assisting our director team in developing major presentations, identifying suitable speaking engagements at conferences, and training of team on improving communications, written and oral.
    • Working with the consulting and senior teams to productize the offerings and methods of communicating the value proposition (website, presentations, articles, email campaigns, etc.)
    • Develop (with assistance from Stax’s analytics team and digital marketing team) a quantitative method of testing and tracking initiatives, measuring results and using learnings for next efforts.
    • Responsibility for broader initiatives, such as updating branding, design, presentation styles, etc
    • Overseeing website content and appearance (no web programming skills required), being the “Voice of Stax” on social media and executing all campaigns.
    • Developing events that are interesting for our clients and/or fun for our team (for example, we’d like to sponsor a young private equity group round table series) and adjusting marketing to client feedback and needs.
    • Travel to other Stax offices is required.

    Resources available:

    You’ll have the backup and support of Stax’s analytics, consulting, research, and tech teams. Our specialized teams can support in campaign building and deployment, content creation, and back-end analytics, among other ad-hoc requests. You will also have access to our extensive set of past content and work.

     

    The Stax teams are located across the globe, with offices in Boston, Chicago, and Colombo, Sri Lanka, in addition to New York, and the role will require working with all offices.

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate can understand Stax’s existing services and plans for growth, work with our CEO to develop a marketing and PR strategy, then execute and scale that plan. Outstanding communication skills, a solid work ethic, and top-notch organizational skills are all expected.  Given this role reports to our CEO, who juggles an incredibly busy schedule and workload, the candidate will also need to be comfortable “managing up” in order to drive decision-making and meet deadlines. Requirements for this role also include:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing or related field preferred, but not required).
    • 7+ years’ experience in public relations or marketing (agency experience preferred, but not required).
    • Consulting/professional services industry experience a big plus.
    • Strong communication and writing skills to present our story and the value of our offerings.
    • Strong computer skills and knowledge of current technology trends is required.
    • Program/campaign management experience including metrics.
    • Strong research and analytical abilities; quantitative-oriented.
    • Demonstrated experience managing social media programs.
    • Resourceful, a self-starter, pro-active, curious. Action-oriented with a self-managed (managing-up) orientation.
    • Team player – we have a ton of resources.
    • A creative problem solver who can multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Scrum Marketing a plus.
    • Willing to travel to additional Stax offices.
